Traditional Thai Massage Treatment
Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai massage is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago in India. It made its way to Thailand where the techniques were perfected. It combines elements of yoga and shiatsu (acupressure), working with the energy pathways of the body and the therapy points thought to be located along the body’s 10 major energy channels known as “Sen” lines, making it more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage.
Thai massage is less commonly known as the Thai yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and shiatsu are also used during treatment, leaving you energized yet very relaxed . If you have never treated yourself to a Traditional Thai Massage you’re in for a treat.
